Meet the team
Sarah West
Managing Director
Having started as a business analyst, Sarah founded MD Aggregates in 2016. She brought with her a knack for problem solving and a high standard of hospitality skills that has resulted in a company known for its impeccable customer service. Sarah is also a qualified HGV Class 1 driver on standby.
Outside of construction, Sarah spent eight ski seasons on the French Alps before coming home and having her son. She’s also a keen horse rider, has recently taken up mountain walking and loves a glass of wine after work.
Amy Smith
Sales & Accounts Administrator
After working in Dentistry for over 7 years, Amy felt it was time for a new challenge and swap her surgical scrubs for high vis and work boots. On a day-to-day basis, you will find Amy assisting the accounts team in the office, or out and about with the sales team helping to price customer orders and ensuring everything is going as planned on site.
Outside of the office, Amy enjoys socialising with her friends, taking long walks in the countryside, and renovating her first home she recently acquired with her partner… any tips for removing woodchip will always be appreciated!
Alice Lee
Sales Administrator
Alice worked previously as a transport planner arranging deliveries around the country, we are looking forward to having Alice’s experience within the team organising and scheduling our drivers for concrete and aggregate orders.
Away from the office Alice enjoys travelling, India being her favourite travel spot, Alice also used to be a keen gymnast but now enjoys walking her dog Nigel.
Mike Weatherall
Transport Manager
With over 25 years experience in transport logistics and haulage, Mike understands his role within the company from both a driver and manager’s perspective.
His current role is ever-growing. He ensures the company remains legal and compliant while protecting the health and safety of both staff and the general public.
When at home, he’s looking after his family, his dog named Diesel, and a crazy host of chickens. Although, they are yet to lay eggs.
Julie Richardson
Accounts Administrator
Julie decided it was time for a change after working for 20 years within the Vending industry. She took her vast experience in accounts and admin to move to construction, and has been working with MD Aggregates since 2019.
She’s highly methodical and responsible for the sales and purchase ledger and handling of all customer queries. It’s very likely that, when you pick up the phone, you will be speaking with Julie first. You should ask her about her springer spaniel.
Bridget Millar-Mills
Sales Admininstrator
Bridget previously worked in Banking before making the move to MD Aggregates. Bridget works alongside Alice in the office organising and scheduling our drivers for the concrete and aggregate orders.
Out of the office Bridget likes to spend time with her family, previously she was a keen rugby player representing Scotland Women Rugby Team.
Nowadays she usually spends her weekends taking her sons to rugby or out to competitions on there ponies Marshal, and Lady Custard.
