MOT Type 1 

Also known as MOT, Type 1, 40mm Down, Scalpings, Hardcore, Crusher Run, DOT Type 1, 1.5 Inch Down

Size: 40mm to dust

 

Stone: Hard Stone Quarry: Limestone, Granite, Basalt or Gritstone.

 

Application: Type 1 MOT is most commonly used as a sub-base for highways, car parks, footpaths, driveways, hard standings and building bases. Type 1 compacts down, which leaves a firm flat finish.

MOT Type 2

Size: 40mm to dust

 

Stone: Hard Stone Quarry: Limestone, Granite, Basalt or Gritstone.

 

Application: Type 2 contains more fines and dust than the type 1, Typically type 2 is used  when the desired finish needs to be a more compact, tight-knit surface.

MOT Type 3

Also known as DOT Type 3, MOT Type 1 X

Size: 40mm to dust

 

Stone: Hard Stone Quarry: Limestone, Granite, Basalt or Gritstone.

 

Application: This is less dust than Type 1, but still compacts the same. It can be used to prevent surface water as creates voids that let more water run through the stone.
