Self Leveling Concrete is slightly different to traditional concrete. It has a high flow characteristic but without adding excessive amount of water as a replacement. What we use at MD Aggregates is a Self Compacting Concrete (SCC). Which means it is still free flowing like Self Leveling Concrete but with an added amount of superplasticizer which helps create flat and smooth surfaces.
We have been working closely with S&I Groundworks recently. They are working on the new housing development that is happening in Malpas, Cheshire for Bovis Homes. S&I Groundworks have been using our SCC for their house floors, as it is a much easier way to lay the concrete. Due to it being free flowing it means only a couple of men can do a big concrete pad.
